Finally, HP acquired Palm. Despite its name (Hewlett Packard) was never mentioned in earlier rumors, which HP finally managed to woo Palm. HP agreed to acquire all shares of Palm 5.7 U.S. dollar price per share so that the total acquisition value of 1.2 billion U.S. dollars. HP said the smartphone market is still very large, profitable, and growth is high and companies can integrate between devices and services dominate the market opportunity. HP ambitious presence could help Palm smartphone market leader in the future. Palm CEO Jon Rubenstein himself calls the HP as the perfect partner to accelerate the growth of WebOS, artificial latest Palm smartphone platform.
